A failed login does not automatically mean the password is wrong. The app may be outdated, the service may be temporarily unavailable or the account may be tied to a different access route. Start with checks that do not change account data, then contact the channel that created the account if needed.

Check the simple details once

Confirm the username character by character, including zeros, capital letters and spaces inserted by copy and paste. Reveal the password briefly in a private setting to catch keyboard-language and capitalisation errors. Do not make many rapid attempts, because repeated failures can trigger a temporary lock.

Check automatic date and time in phone settings, switch between a trusted Wi-Fi connection and mobile data, then restart the app. If other parts of the client load but login fails, note the exact message rather than paraphrasing it.

Confirm the client and route

An old version can stop authenticating after a platform change. Obtain update instructions through the same source used for the account, and keep the old app until credentials and the replacement route are confirmed. Our safe download checklist explains how to assess a new installer.

If a website login is involved, inspect the complete domain. Password managers match saved credentials to domains and can provide a useful warning when an address is different. Do not override that warning merely because the page design looks familiar.

Forgotten password or locked account

Use an in-app recovery control when one is available. Otherwise, return to the service contact or portal that issued the username. Supply only the information required to identify the account. A legitimate helper does not need the current password or a one-time code sent to your device.

Never share: your password, one-time verification code, full card number, screen-sharing control or a photo that exposes unrelated identity information.

A lock can be temporary after repeated attempts. Ask how long it lasts before requesting resets from multiple people. Parallel recovery conversations can create confusion and make impersonation harder to spot.

New phone or reinstalled app

Device changes can prompt fresh verification. Install through the known route, enter the username manually and complete only the verification shown within the expected channel. If an account appears empty, confirm that you have not created or entered a second username with similar spelling.

Keep the old device signed in until the new access works, unless the phone was lost or stolen. For a missing device, change the password promptly, ask for other sessions to be closed and remove saved credentials through the phone platform account where possible.

Protect the account day to day

  • Use a unique password stored in a reputable password manager.
  • Enable additional verification if the account supports it.
  • Do not save credentials on a shared handset.
  • Review account messages and balances after an unexpected logout.
  • Keep screenshots free of codes and full financial information.

Unexpected activity or balance changes

If something looks unfamiliar, stop using the account and take a clean record of the time, displayed transaction reference and balance. Change the password from a trusted device if that control is available, then ask for other active sessions to be closed. Do not continue playing while trying to determine whether a balance discrepancy is still updating.

Contact the account service through a previously verified route, not a phone number or chat handle supplied in a new message. Describe the disputed activity without sending full bank details. Keep copies of the conversation and avoid paying a “release,” “verification” or “unlock” fee simply because someone claims it is required to investigate.

Shared and public devices

A private browsing window does not make a public device safe. Keyboard logging, saved screenshots and browser extensions can still expose credentials. If you used a device you do not control, sign out, change the password from your own phone and review active sessions. Remove saved autofill entries where you can do so without exposing more information.

Prepare a useful support message

State the username, device model, operating-system version, app version, time the problem occurred and exact error text. Explain what you already tried. This is usually enough for a first investigation and is safer than sending a folder of unedited screenshots.
